Shekenda Hill (born November 23, 1992), a.k.a. Brazil Hill is an American rapper and R&B singer. Hill’s passion for music is a product of her life’s trials and tribulations. In 2007, her older brother was shot and killed on their childhood streets of Mobile, AL. Several years later in 2015, Hill was shot two times in a drive-by shooting. Both of these senseless acts ignited Hill’s pursuit in music. Shortly after her brother’s passing, Hill originated an independent music label, Rich Point Music with her business partner Freddie Davis.
“In A Minute” (streaming on iTunes, Spotify and Tidal) is Hill’s first single released on Rich Point Music.
Hill does not only represent her native roots of Mobile, but also the LGBTQ community. As a lesbian artist, Hill expresses her true self in her music. And in midst of her musical career, the Alabaman artist confronts occasional criticism. But Hill doesn’t allow judgment to exceed her talent, which speaks for itself. The artist continues to garner recognition from various platforms. In 2019, Hill was nominated Female Lyricist of the Year by the Atlanta Independent Music Awards. Within the same year, the cultivating rapper was nominated for 4 categories in the Alabama Music Awards.
